Valeriy, a former truck driver and music teacher, has a lot of free time living at the camp, so he spends it learning and teaching his children new instruments. After just a few months of playing, brothers Ivan and Alexander are proficient in guitar and piano thanks to lessons from their father.

Dennis Klaus has become a leader and organizer at the camp. He is the self-proclaimed "fixer-upper," and always has a positive attitude that spreads through the community.

The Faith Church camp for Hurricane Sandy victims is stripped bare and covered with snow two months after the families left on Feb. 11, 2014. All that remains is a skeleton of the former camp and a sign reading "faith." The residents are thankful for the kindness of others and determined to put the pieces of their lives back together. "People here have been incredible to us, and the church has been phenomenal," said Klaus.
